For many years, Oracle Corporation was known mainly as the world’s largest vendor of relational database management systems. Today, Oracle is much more than that: it is a provider of complete solutions for the business world, for enterprises and organizations of all kinds. For over 30 years, Oracle is the indisputable leader in the area of information management software.

Together with a fast, secure, and reliable database server, Oracle provides also middleware, tools for software development and applications which have been accepted as standard in many sectors of the economy. Oracle means also a Web-enabled platform — a set of products which enable to develop Internet-based applications. Apart from products, Oracle offers also many services, including consulting, software service and trainings.

Integrated suites of business applications contain all components necessary for efficient management of an enterprise: ERP Applications, CRM (Customer Relationships Management) Systems, Internet Procurement, and BI&W-class analytic solutions. The suite enables the customers to run a complete e-business, from Web-based sales and marketing to the Internet supply chain and e-shopping.

Oracle Corporation operates on the IT market since 1977 - primary as Software Development Laboratories. It is one of the pioneers of applying the modern information storage and processing methods using relational database management systems (RDBMS). The company offers state-of-the-art products employing emerging trends in this area of knowledge. Oracle was the first manufacturer to introduce the SQL language to its system. SQL is now the standard for building and accessing databases. Oracle introduced the first database for Grid Computing - Oracle 10g. In 2006 Oracle acquired Siebel thus being the world's #1 CRM vendor. With the acquisition of BEA Systems (2008) Oracle is now the biggest Middleware vendor in the world. The company representatives take part in the most important standardization committees and introduce many company’s solutions to widely accepted international standards.

Oracle products

The company software offer includes now a large number of products divided into several main groups:

  • Oracle 11g: solutions enabling to create Web-based IT systems working in modern Grid Computing architecture: reliable, secure, and scalable database systems; software development tools.
  • Oracle Fusion Middleware: suite of ca 30 products for business integration, enabling systems deployment in SOA architecture (includes application server, J2EE tools, BPEL Manager, BPA Suite, identity management, data hubs, Portal, Business Intelligence Suite and many more).
  • Business applications line: integrated applications, providing a complete business-support solution, from marketing, through sales organization and customer order processing, to manufacturing, distribution and finances. Also included are sales-analysis systems, financial-analysis systems, and strategic planning support tools for enterprise management.
  • The Oracle applications suites line include: Oracle E-Business Suite, Oracle PeopleSoft Enterprise, Oracle JD Edwards EnterpriseOne, JD Edwards World, Hyperion and Oracle Siebel.
  • Oracle vertical applications: Oracle Transportation Management, Oracle Utilities Customer Care and Billing, Oracle's Financial Management Solutions (i-flex), Governance, Risk and Compliance, Agile Product Lifecycle Management.
  • Oracle Enterprise Manager: set of tools for managing business applications, end-user services and the grid infrastructure

    Company owned in 100% by Oracle Corporation, established in 1992, headquartered in Warsaw. The Polish subsidiary of Oracle offers Oracle products, technical support (granted by the ISO 9002 certificate), training, business and technological consulting, also implementation of IT projects. Oracle Poland employs at present 330 people. Oracle Poland closely co-operates with strategic partners and system integrators, including major global manufacturers of computer hardware, the consulting companies and also 300 local partners. The annual revenue for CY 2010 is 590 mln PLN. The market share for database products in Poland is now over 60%.
